Arsenal have only scored three goals in their last six Champions League matches.
Villarreal have played seven Champions League games against English teams - six draws (five 0-0) and a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the semi-final in 2006. Villarreal have only won six and drawn 12 out of 21 Champions League matches.


Arsenal's Brazilian midfielder Denilson is the only outfield player to have featured in every minute of this season's Champions League.


The Gunners have lost two Champions League home games against Spanish opposition, against Barcelona in 1999 and Deportivo in 2002, both in the group stage. Arsenal have kept a clean sheet on each of the last five occasions they have hosted Spanish opposition in the Champions League. The last non-English team to score more than one goal at Arsenal was Internazionale in September 2003. Since then Arsene Wenger's men have kept 19 clean sheets in 27 Champions League home matches. The only clean sheet kept by the Spanish side away from home in this campaign has been at Old Trafford.


Arsenal are the only team left in the competition yet to concede at home this season.


Villarreal have scored 13 goals so far, six of them in the game against Aalborg.
